Wilko Johnson (born as John Peter Wilkinson), a former member of the pub rock/rhythm and blues band "Dr. Feelgood" was born on 12 July 1947 on Canvey Island, Essex, England, UK. Wilko is an English musician, actor, guitarist, and songwriter.  

Wilko’s Legacy

Johnson's harmonious stylishness supported the early years of Dr. Feelgood. A style that has been quoted as one of the influences of the British punk program. In February 2017, The Wave Pictures unconfined a vinyl EP titled Canvey Island Baby, which includes five covers of Johnson-penned tracks and an additional song, the title track inscribed by the band's singer David Tattersall.                                                     

Johnson’s Acting Career

For his acting entrance, Johnson was troupe in the role of silent assassin Ser Ilyn Payne, in both the first and second season of the HBO award-winning series Game of Thrones, after the producers had seen him in Oil City Confidential.

Game of Thrones is an American drama TV series. It is created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The series premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011. The series will settle with its eighth season premiering whichever in 2018 or 2019. Game of Thrones has fascinated record viewership on HBO and has a comprehensive, active, global fan base. It has been celebrated by critics, mostly for its acting, multipart characters, story, choice, and production values, although its regular use of nudity and viciousness (including sexual violence) has been censured. Till date, Game of Thrones has earned 212 awards.

Johnson made his acting entrance in Game of Thrones. He dramas as Ser Ilyn Payne and was established in the role on 2 September 2010. He originally seemed as a guest star in the first season and reimbursed in this role for the second spell. The cold death-glare which Johnson is famous for completing is just part of his on-stage presentation, and in real-life he is known for being a sincere, funny individual prone to laughter. The producers of Game of Thrones appointed him and didn't even audition anybody else for his role.

Wilko’s Personal life

 

Johnson was married to his childhood sweetheart Irene Knight when they were teenagers, and the pair had two sons named as Matthew and Simon. Irene died of cancer in 2004. He is attracted towards astronomy, painting, and poetry. Johnson's lad Simon is also a guitarist, singing in Southend-based band Eight Rounds Rapid.

 

Johnson’s Cancer

Johnson was required to abandon a show in November 2012 when he was hurried to the hospital with a secret ailment. He was identified in January 2013 with late-stage pancreatic cancer and chosen not to take any chemotherapy.

Though, Johnson did not have common adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. It was later exposed that he had a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET), a less infectious and more curable form of the illness. Johnson underwent radical surgery to treat his disease, and the doctors were confident that his diagnosis would be good. At the Q Awards on 22 October 2014, Johnson acknowledged the "Icon Award" and proclaimed that he was "cancer-free" having suffered "removal of his pancreas, spleen, part of his stomach, small and large intestines and the removal and reconstruction of blood vessels relating to the liver".
