William Ray Norwood Jr. was born as the youngest child of William Ray "Willie" Norwood Sr. and his wife Sonja Bates-Norwood on January 17, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi, USA. His sister Brandy Rayana Norwood is a recording actress with multiple platinum. Sometime in 1983, the family moved to Los Angeles, California.
