Sean was born as Sean Patrick Hannity on December 30, 1961, in New York City, New York. Hannity is the son of Hugh J. Gallen and Lillian F. Hannity. Sean has spent his childhood and raised in Franklin Square where he studied at St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary. His grandparents emigrated from Ireland. He attended New York University and Adelphi University but he dropped out before graduation.

After that, he joined WVNN, a radio station in Athens, Alabama. From WVNN, he moved to WGST in Atlanta in 1992. He served as a co-host of the show "Hannity and Colmes”, on Fox News.
