Early Life and Career

Marvin Lee Aday was born on September 27, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, U.S. He is the only child of Wilma Artie and Orvis Wesley Aday.  Aday attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from the same school. After attending college at Lubbock Christian College, he transferred to North Texas State University. After his mother died he started living in an apartment. After a short time one day he went to the airport and caught the next flight leaving to Los Angeles.

Aday career began when he formed his first band, "Meat Loaf Soul". After several team changes and name change, the band finally split up into pieces. Later, Meat Loaf joined the Los Angeles production of “Hair”. It led him to Broadway and earned the young performer some important name recognition.

In 1986, Loaf started playing the drums in the music video of the World Wrestling Federation wrestlers' rendition of "Land of 1,000 Dances". In 2000, he appeared in the sixth-season episode "Gettysburg" of “The Outer Limits”. Meat Loaf appeared as Jack Black's father in the 2006 film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, providing vocals on the film's opening song "Kickapoo". Meat Loaf appeared on the reality television show “Ghost Hunters”.

Personal Life

In 1978, Loaf went Woodstock to work with Steinman when he met Leslie G. Edmonds; they were married within a month. Leslie had a daughter, Pearl Aday, from the previous marriage. Pearl later married to Scott Ian, the rhythm guitarist for the thrash metal band Anthrax. The couple had one child- Amanda Aday, now a television actress. The couple divorced in 2001. But in 2007, he married Deborah Gillespie.
