She is best known for appearing as Lindsay Rappaport on the soap opera ‘One Life to Live’. She also played the role of Courtney Marshall and Tess Wilder Partou Huston in the drama series ‘Texas’ and ‘The City’ respectively. She had acted in the movies ‘The Last Married Couple in America’, ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘Witchery’. Hickland appeared as Fantine in a Broadway production of Les Misérables. Currently, she is a businessperson and runs her own cosmetics line ‘Cat Cosmetics’. On the personal level, the American actress cum entrepreneur is a woman who has been married four times.

Hickland's Early Life
Hickland was born on February 11, 1956, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida by Arthur and Mary Hickland. She has two siblings- one brother and one sister. Hickland studied at Fort Lauderdale High School in 1974. Later, she was enrolled at Florida Atlantic University, but she eventually dropped out after two years of attendance to take a job as a flight attendant for National Airlines. Later she left for Los Angeles to study acting.
In the beginning of her career, Hickland played a number of daytime dramas. Firstly in 1978, she appeared in an episode of the 1978 drama. But sooner she had her first major role on “Texas” series as Dr. Courtney Marshall from 1980 to 1981. After this, the actress started acting in the dramas of ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘Capitol’. Hickland also appeared on the 15th episode of the game show "Body Language" in 1985. She also appeared as a singer singing "Our First Night Together" and "Let It Be Me" on the record “Night Rocker”.
